São Paulo Capital Project

S A O   P A U L O   C A P I T A L   P R O J E C T

This is an art project that I created some years ago. The idea came from my personal experience in the great city of São Paulo. People love and hate the city at the same time. It is an ever-evolving place. It’s fast paced, intense and expansive, but at the same time, it feels abandoned, impersonal and uncared for.

There is no evident emotional link between the city and the people who live there. There isn’t an "I Love NY" or "I Love Rio" kind of feeling. That’s what I wanted to convey in this work. Since the beginning of 2014, I started to bring the pieces to life, one by one - two so far. There are many others that are in the works and are almost ready.

This project is my greatest passion. I am developing these projects for Sao Paulo in the hopes of changing people's minds about Sao Paulo and the way they think about it and their loyalty to this great city.

THE MASP TABLE

The most famous building at Paulista Avenue, designed by Lina Bo Bardi in 1968, always meant to be a side table since the begining of its existence.

THE KNIFE RACK

Fiesp. Copan. Torre Paulista. Italia. Ipiranga. Banespa. All classic and historic buildings located in the heart of Sao Paulo. Now, neighbours and in metalic structure.
